In a large shop, most people masked and respecting each other's space. The usual small complement of nitwits with masks below their noses. One shopper, entirely unmasked, talking loudly on her phone throughout, not bothered about keeping any distance between her and anyone else. We end up at the till together, me queuing directly behind her. She constantly goes to get just one more item, passing me 5 or 6 times, talking loudly in my face (and not even the courtesy of an "excuse me").
I wear a mask. I have asthma. I'm coughing a lot ATM but I do my best to stifle my cough indoors as naturally it spooks people. Not this morning. I'd had enough of her discourtesy and I let rip and allowed myself to cough. Into my elbow of course.
Eventually she gave me a filthy look and returned from her last 'just one more thing barge-past' with a packet of masks.
And before anyone says 'hidden disabilities' or any such thing, I've known this woman for years, though we are not friends, and she is exactly what she seems.
Just wanted to get that off my chest. I'm a key worker, putting myself at risk for people like her.
