Parents scanning QR code at nursery drop off

Our nursery have asked parents to scan the NHS app QR code at drop off and I'm just wondering if others have been asked to do the same? One parent at a time is allowed into the reception area, hands over the child and leaves again immediately after.

Sounds sensible to me.

Yes, ours will be on the front door so we can scan whilst standing in the queue outside.

Nope haven’t been asked

No that's really odd. It's basic H&S and safeguarding to have a register of children that are attending on any given day. Plus the adults if doing of surely aren't starting there for more than 15 mins.

@SpottyBrolly I agree, I find it totally bizarre. Are we scanning on our kids' behalf?

Nope. We just drop off in the garden area one parent /family at a time
