As the title says are you cleaning shopping from the supermarket?

I've been going over shopping with an antibacterial wipe but some of my friends don't bother and was wondering what everyone else is doing?

No. And as bluntness said hardly a mix..

Lemons1571 · 24/09/2020 19:32

Does this mean park benches are also now deemed safe? If we are locked down again I can sit on a bench while the kids play and I won’t absorb covid through my arse?

CrunchyCarrot · 24/09/2020 19:33

Yes, been doing it since March. Has become part of our delivery routine. Will probably stick with it now till this is over.

candourclegane · 24/09/2020 19:38

Nope. I did in the very early days, but soon realised there was no need.

OpheliasCrayon · 24/09/2020 19:39

No

SquatBetty · 24/09/2020 19:39

No, I am shockingly lazy though and probably wouldn't even bother if we were living through an Ebola pandemic

juneybean · 24/09/2020 19:40

I did it once back in deepest darkest March and couldn't be arsed again, would rather catch it that waste time washing my shopping.

JamSarnie · 24/09/2020 19:46

Never have and never will.

Knock yourself out doing it if you want but I think it's totally ott.

2020inhindsight · 24/09/2020 19:48

Still doing it and using soapy water. Both DH and I have elderly parents and we don't want to take any unnecessary risks with their health when we visit them or be in a position where we can't visit cos we've picked up something nasty

belowradar · 24/09/2020 20:01

I certainly did after I watched my delivery driver with hands down the back of his shorts (inside!) while going to get the second load of boxes.

ZarasHouse · 24/09/2020 20:04

I wash fruit and veg, and the tops of tins and cans, with warm soapy water (fairy liquid)

ThreePipeProblems · 24/09/2020 20:06

Nope. Never have done. Always felt it was utterly pointless.

Scoobidoo · 24/09/2020 20:06

Yes, it takes ages but worth it for peace of mind

dementedpixie · 24/09/2020 20:13

I never have and am not going to start now

Frazzled13 · 24/09/2020 22:24

Nope. What a complete waste of time, and an awful overuse of antibacterial products.

LetsPlayAGame20 · 24/09/2020 22:28

Nope. Pointless. I have enough to do in a day without adding extra unnecessary jobs.

Pipandmum · 24/09/2020 22:31

Nope no point. I'm not worried about my supermarket stuff - the science really doesn't warrant it.

ekidmxcl · 24/09/2020 22:32

No because I can't live like that and have no time to do it anyway.

Plus, you'd really have to get every last millimetre of the packaging because of the microscopic nature of the enemy!

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 24/09/2020 22:35

yep, antibac spray on a washable cloth. I don't think I will stop doing it even after the pandemic.

Facelikearustytractor · 24/09/2020 22:35

Only if someone has shat on it Grin

Bbq1 · 24/09/2020 22:36

God, no. Not even when I was shielding. No point whatsoever. If people think cleaning your shopping is ridiculous get this:My mum's friend was cleaning her MONEY after shopping until recently...

deflationexasperation · 24/09/2020 22:39

Not at the moment but when we get deeper into winter probably. I washed it through.

Crinkledbeetroot · 24/09/2020 22:40

I quarantine the shopping for 72 hours. If I need something before then I wipe it down.

emptyshelvesagain · 24/09/2020 22:40

No. Just no.

friendlycat · 24/09/2020 23:07

Yes and agree that looking at the colour of the water afterwards it’s going to be a very hard habit to break If ever.
