DH tested positive

So DH and I both were rated recently as a routine part of our work.
I’ve come back negative but he’s tested positive.
He’s got no symptoms at all. He’s working, running etc etc
Is it possibly a mistake? Or more likely he’s asymptomatic?
Is it worth getting him another test do you think?

Also interested here. DB works at a private school and they have their own tests there. They're testing any staff members self isolating or with symptoms. The tests aren't cheap but they stocked up to make sure they have enough teachers fit to work.

@HelloMissus what a glamorous couple. I’d like to be friends with you, where can I submit my application?

Absolutely spot on, @bigchocfrenzy. I wish the government would do a better job of explaining these things.

It's also worth adding for others who have seen this that the 7% figure has nothing to do with the accuracy of the PCR test (the model actually assumes a 100% accurate test).

It's all to do with incubation periods and the probability that people who have the virus will have reached the end of their incubation period and so actually test positive at the time the arrive at a UK airport. And the simple fact is, only 7% of people who fly to the UK will.

The other 93% of people who are infected will still be in their incubation period and so test negative - and so potentially go on to infect others.

Oh there's a massive gap in this thread from Thursday to today - what did the second test say OP?
