No slots on ocado... again... anyone else having issues?

OP posts:
Fallpoetry · 23/09/2020 19:20

Showing availability right through for the next four weeks for me?

Porcupineinwaiting · 23/09/2020 19:20

No

Llamapolice · 23/09/2020 19:29

Not really panic buying, it's probably people who don't want to go into shops again. But yes no slots here.

The reason people have problems is because of people posting that there aren’t any.

If you want to get a slot then engage your brain and stop adding to the panic.

I have regular availability into October. No problem. Ordered pasta and tinned tomatoes.

MN99 · 28/09/2020 13:35

My problem (in NW London) is that I am limited to one order every 7 days. Slots inbetween show as unavailable, even though I can see in another account that they are wide open. Cant get any sense out of CS despite several email exchanges. Am I alone with this?

PermanentMarkerSniffer · 28/09/2020 13:45

Hardly panic buying. Tesco was a bit light on bog rolls yesterday but that was it (but plenty available) - overflowing with other stuff.

Shitfuckoh · 28/09/2020 13:46

No slots here either. Tesco have none until the 11th Oct. Asda looks full but there is 3 slots available next week.

Orangeblossom7777 · 28/09/2020 13:48

It's not panic buying, it has been like this since M&S started

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 28/09/2020 13:48

It’s a combination of panic buying and M&S joining IMO

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 28/09/2020 13:49

Cross point @Orangeblossom7777

vanillandhoney · 28/09/2020 13:49

Totally normal here.

But IMO all threads like this do is exacerbate the problem and create panic!

CeibaTree · 28/09/2020 13:53

Hmm I just logged on and can see lots of slots for the next 3 weeks (am in SW London) 🤔

Are you from the Ocado marketing department OP? :)

Ellmau · 28/09/2020 14:01

It may well vary by area.

Verite1 · 28/09/2020 14:08

It’s been a nightmare since it changed to m and s. And loads of stuff out of stock, or not delivered or substituted. That’s the real problem

happytoday73 · 28/09/2020 14:09

Toilet roll seems in short supply near us again.... 😜🤯

CaptainBrickbeard · 28/09/2020 14:09

I’m in a local lockdown area with very high numbers of cases so obviously slots are limited - a lot of people here are self isolating with symptoms or following contact with confirmed cases or due to the rising numbers don’t want to go to the supermarket - I’m certainly not keen given the amount of infections I know of close by! It’s not panic buying, it’s not selfishness or hysteria - it’s increased demand for delivery due to more difficulties faced in getting to the shops in person. I hate all the blaming that goes on! Some people are scared, some people are ill, some people are confined by track and trace - slots are filling up quicker. It’s inevitable and doesn’t mean mass stockpiling is happening. Even back in March when shelves were stripped it was calculated that on average most households only spent £15 extra per week - it was hardly that everyone was loading up the garage with toilet paper, it was that everyone at once anticipates a potential two week isolation period and buys so that they won’t have to break the rules by going out when not supposed to.

Flagsfiend · 28/09/2020 17:22

I think the issues are m and s related - I haven't been able to get a slot since early September, but no issues with other supermarkets.

Newgirls · 28/09/2020 17:24

Slot issues are due to M&S as sales went up.

I can get slots a few days ahead. Last delivery had everything I wanted.

theneverendinglaundry · 28/09/2020 17:31

Absolutely no slots available in my area for the next 3 weeks....

linelgreen · 28/09/2020 18:36

No issues in Manchester area I have my next 4 Friday slots booked

wendz86 · 28/09/2020 18:45

I can only get a slot every 7 days again but a lot of availability on the days i can get one.

ceeveebee · 28/09/2020 18:47

I have slots booked every weekend for the next 4 weeks and can see lots of slots for the next month (Manchester)

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 28/09/2020 19:05

Same here, not that they bothered notifying me of the change. I've had no substitutions so far though
JS87 · 28/09/2020 19:15

It's very likely that as more and more households end up self isolating for 14 days due to increasing cases of covid and other winter bugs that there will be less availability of slots. They are only so many slots. I suspect it isn't panic buying so much as increased demand for the service.

doireallyneedaname · 28/09/2020 21:51

Gone from being able to book for next day to one week ahead!
