So if anyone has had it I wouldn’t mind some advice.

Woke up drenched in sweat. Not something that’s that unusual for me but usually not when the weather is cooler.

Been coughing a bit on and off. When I breath deeply or talk for too long it starts up. It’s not continuous just a few coughs. My throat does feel dry so it might just be because we have the heating on.

Bit of a headache but think it’s my sinuses which often cause bother so again not necessarily unusual. I don’t feel like I have a temperature.

Feel generally alright in myself really.

I work in a large college though so am now thinking is this it...

Honestly, it's possible. Certainly sound like you have something. Only way to know for sure is to test.

I’m hoping it’s my health anxiety/general anxiety and it’s all in my head. I’ve convinced myself of way worse before.

Can you get a test under the keyworker priority scheme, ask your college?

Oh that’s a good idea. If I’m still coughing tomorrow I’m going to have to let them know so I’ll do that Smile

Hope you feel better soon

Are you off your food? Can you smell and/or taste your food?

When I had it I lost my appetite completely and the cough didn't quit for 5 days. Plus the temperature and breathing problems.

ImFree2doasiwant · 23/09/2020 20:20

You need a test, regardless of how you feel tomorrow.

No eaten as normal and can taste and smell fine. No temperature as far as I can tell and breathing is fine. Just the cough but it seems to have subsided now anyway.

But do I though? If I wake up tomorrow with no cough and feel fine then surely I’m OK? I’d have no symptoms so wouldn’t qualify for a test. Covid wouldn’t just go away after one day would it?

Covid can wax and wane. During my first week I had days when I felt sick, then a day when I felt almost back to normal, then the next day sick again (second week was worse). That said, if you wake up feeling fine tomorrow I wouldnt test, I'd wait another day and see.

Kitcat122 · 23/09/2020 22:14

I completely lost my appetite too.

I don’t think so tbh. I’ve just had a cold, there’s a bad one doing the rounds at DDs school and several kids have had tests all negative. I’ve had a mild intermittent cough, sore throat, snotty nose and sinus headache which are all pretty big standard cold things and a week later I feel much better as I’d normally expect to.

Okbutnotgreat · 05/10/2020 07:01

The guidance is pretty clear on this so unless you have a continuous cough, fever or loss of taste/smell don’t use up a test. All the usual bugs and viruses are still here and I think we’ve forgotten how many do the rounds at the start of every school year.
