Positive Covid result over weekends- school protocol?

What are your school’s protocols where a pupil receives a positive test result over the weekend?

Do they inform the ‘support bubble’’ who need to isolate straight away or do they wait for Monday (when some of them may have already used school buses etc to travel to school)?

Ring people over the weekend.

Straight away. It was a holiday weekend here but we got emails on Sunday saying there was a positive result within the school and contact tracing was underway. Then another email an hour later saying that all close contacts had been alerted which I thought was good as we weren't left hanging.

We got emails, Twitter, Facebook and text announcements at 6pm the second Sunday they were back confirming a positive staff case and closing the school for the Monday because of the number of teachers then having to self isolate. Close contacts remained off and oscillating and the SLT got enough bank and supervisory staff to reopen on the Tuesday, with the well but isolating teachers breaking their lessons in live via google classroom meets.
