My Dm lives about 30 miles away. I visit a couple of times a week.
She lives near to my brothers and during lockdown they did her shopping etc.
My DS and his wife live near to me he has 2 children.
My DD and her partner also live near to me and they have 3 children.
Who can me and my Dh visit.

Where in the country do you live?

TheUnwindingCableCar · 22/09/2020 22:24

It's not complicated.

Noidea2114 · 22/09/2020 22:25

You can meet up with 6 people at a time. Any 6.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 22/09/2020 22:26

Sorry OP but this reads like an exam question Grin FWIW I've had this conversations with DF today. We have so many conflicting pieces of information I actually don't know if he can visit or not!

6 people, so you and your DH can visit your mum = 3 people.
You and your DH can visit your DS, his wife and 2 children = 6 people.
You can visit your DD, her husband and 3 children = 6 people. But your DH would have to visit another day.
Or your DD and the kids can visit and her husband stay at home.

Search me Confused. Am so tired of trying to work out each subsequent new lot of rules.

Will follow whatever they are though (but am an admin person in a school with three dc at secondary school so for all of us it’s more like the rule of hundreds).

Fallowdeerhunter · 22/09/2020 22:38

But it’s really lot complicated. It’s 6 people at a time indoors our outdoors. That’s it.

PurpleDaisies · 22/09/2020 22:38

Cheshire doesn’t have local restrictions as far as I can see.
Unless they live in areas with local restrictions, you can see a maximum of four other people when you’re with your dh.

Fallowdeerhunter · 22/09/2020 22:38

not

Mippi · 22/09/2020 22:39

How is 6 people complicated though Confused Whether you agree with it or not, you have to admit it is very simple?

claireymrsd · 22/09/2020 22:40

It's really quite simple - the rule of 6.

What people seem to forget though is that with those 6 people, you should still be social distancing with anyone who's not in your household.

LovelyWeekAway · 22/09/2020 22:42

Or if you live in Scotland- nobody
Absolutely ridiculous Angry

ArthurMorgan · 22/09/2020 22:44

It depends if you're in local lockdown or not. I am and I can't see any one. If you're not then the rule of 6 still applies.

BadDucks · 22/09/2020 22:44

Meh people got stuck on the rules of 2 metres apart and only one walk outside a day I can see why the rule if 6 would flummox some.

LilyPond2 · 22/09/2020 22:50

But surely we need to know where the OP's family members live in order to answer this question, as if they are under local lockdown they might not be allowed to meet with the OP.

DamitJanet · 23/09/2020 05:57

Up to six people at any one time, assume where you’re meeting is not in an area with additional measures/Scotland.

BillywilliamV · 23/09/2020 06:16

I would be seeing all of them, when and where I wanted, you’ll hit 7/8 people a couple of times but any extra risk is marginal and just highlights the absurdity of a number plucked from the air.

stoptheworldiwant2getoff · 23/09/2020 06:25

Why is it so hard to understand

Missfelipe · 23/09/2020 09:23

As long as these family members don’t live in neighbouring areas under restriction such as Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Warrington etc....

It’s not hard to understand. Honestly getting a bit exasperated with what is clearly wilful ignorance of people who don’t want to abide by the rules!
