Have tried Ocado, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrison’s and NO delivery slots either for 2 weeks or none at all.

Why??? Is something going on that I haven’t heard about?

Loads of slots here. And we actually are in a local restrictions area.

AdoraBell · 22/09/2020 20:51

Last week I had to call my local supermarket, idly chatting while they sorted the issue I said -I suppose more customers are ordering on line now. They said it had increased from 10% of their sales to 90%.

Flower262 · 22/09/2020 20:52

Dd just got positive Covid result, so we needed a slot. Nothing for 2 weeks with asda, managed to get a slot next Tuesday with Tesco, was hoping for something this side of the weekend.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/09/2020 20:52

Loads of slots with Sainsbury's available to me.
Though I did buy a delivery pass last week as I had a feeling that things were going to get worse & Sainsburys have been offering slots to the vulnerable & those with delivery passes before anyone else.

MaverickDanger · 22/09/2020 21:01

South West & tons with Sainsbury’s - just Friday night and Saturday with limited availability but that’s pretty normal.

ceeveebee · 22/09/2020 21:07

@Littlemissdaredevil

Just had an email from Iceland telling me they have got 1000’s of slots available
Yep I’ve just had the same email
LittleRen · 22/09/2020 21:09

I am struggling with Ocado. I have always had priority access and now I have barely any slots... I am north west so perhaps people panicking due to local lockdown.

Motherofmonsters · 22/09/2020 21:12

Next available sit with Tesco for where I am is the 8th Oct at 8pm

daisydalrymple · 22/09/2020 21:14

Our Asda loo roll shelves are empty 😭🤦🏻‍♀️ Someone posted a pic on local fb earlier.

Pringlemonster · 22/09/2020 21:15

Plenty of slots here ,could book tomorrow if I wanted to

I can see slots for Ocado from Wednesday next week and for the whole of the next month. I have already booked a weekly slot for the next few weeks as I always do. I’m in northwest too

Our Asda loo roll shelves are empty

And my Asda loo roll shelves are not empty.

Rumours leading up to the recent announcements may have led to people panicking, because people fear the unknown, but I can’t see that anything has been said today which would cause people to think we may run out of food, or am I missing something?

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 22/09/2020 21:29

Slots are fine round us for now (Essex) but the local Sainsbury's toilet roll shelves were very bare at 3:30pm this afternoon. Tinned items seemed ok though....for now! I think people are starting to panic but again - I think due to the mentioning of a lockdown over October half term.

TheGreatWave · 22/09/2020 21:40

Ocado are rubbish, this is exactly what happened to people back in March and onwards.

I now have a recurring slot with Sainsburys, thanks for the reminder as I have just gone in to do it.

Click and collect is always an option if not isolating.

Titsywoo · 22/09/2020 21:40

Someone just posted on our local FB group that loo roll, chicken and baked beans were near empty on shelves again. I'm Surrey/London border. I'm not going to panic buy but I really hope the long queues in the carpark don't start again. It's going to be cold from tomorrow...

Leafbeans · 22/09/2020 21:43

They often release some a few days before if they manage to secure another driver etc, you're actually probably less likely to get a lot in 2 weeks time than one in a few days, but you have to keep checking. And no idea why, the shops won't shut.

Leafbeans · 22/09/2020 21:43

Why are people panic buying chicken

Ginfordinner · 22/09/2020 21:56

Slots are going fast where we are in South Yorkshire. No Ocado slots until October. Can get a Sainsburys one for Sunday and one for Tesco next Tuesday.

People are idiots Hmm

GlacindaTheTroll · 22/09/2020 21:56

Why are people panic buying chicken

Because it'll feed a family of 7 for at least 3 days (more if you eke it out with lentils)

Ginfordinner · 22/09/2020 22:09

Is this an MN chicken @GlacindaTheTroll Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/09/2020 22:11

No can't be a MN chicken Gin as they feed a family of 10 for two weeks 😂

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 22:19

Well even before this I had to use grocery delivery because my mobility means I can't do a big shop or get shopping home etc but since this all kicked off Iv also been getting bits for a neighbor (sometimes two neighbors) who was shielding so I book the same time on the same day of the week every week for as many weeks as it will me but it's the only slot I use and don't ever take an extra slot on another day or a different shop. I know that even if this all ended tomorrow I'm sill always going to need to do it this way so I personally don't think it's wrong to book my single weekly slot even if I book it for 4 consecutive weeks.

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 22:21

Can I just say I'm not buying 1000 thousand toilet rolls and 20 40kg bags of pasta though Grin

redlockscelt · 22/09/2020 22:25

Ocado emailed me two weeks ago offering a free weekly Ocado reserved slot, maybe you could try that OP?
