Oh fgs, what’s going on with online delivery slots??

Have tried Ocado, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrison’s and NO delivery slots either for 2 weeks or none at all.

Why??? Is something going on that I haven’t heard about?

I don't usually shop online but I'm having to self isolate as I've been in contact with someone who has Covid. I've booked a slot with Morrisons for Friday. They had plenty for the weekend.

I’ve just checked my local Tesco and they have slots from Sunday mainly in the evening and excellent availability if you can wait until next Wednesday. Looks like slots are more heavily booked than usual but still available where I am

Ive just checked Tesco (Lincolnshire) No slots available till Tuesday 6th October.

It all depends where you live though, how many slots are available, likewise stock in the shops

Not had any problem getting either Sainsbury, Ocado or Morrisons slots throughout - either at home, at our holiday cottage or for an self catering let. I book mine ahead and reserve with a few items until I know what I want.

I gave up on Tesco because of their hard to get slots and eighty item limit.

Not far from Wolverhampton and earliest Morrison’s slot was for next Monday so yep demand is picking up round here .

Waitrose are virtually full for the next two weeks. Everyone getting back to panic stations! Either that, or they're making the most of Waitrose before it turns to Tesco.

The next slot for around me on Ocado is 30th sept at 20:30.

Pre-covid that would have been tomorrow at 09:00

I can't even get on to the ocado website but when I checked yesterday it looked like OP's page - no slots available and wouldn't even let me scroll more than three days in advance.

I can get a Sainsbury's slot from Sunday onwards though.

I'm London if that makes a difference

I couldn't book one this evening until the weekend. Luckily I didn't need one til Monday and was able to book with Ocado for then. I have also booked one for the following Monday too.

I suspect some people were expecting to go into a stricter lockdown again and were trying to get ahead of the game.

I have slots with both Asda and Morrisons booked up for the next 3 weeks (ASDA I have a permanent slot, Morrisons I book as far in advance as I can) but that's how I lived pre covid as well. It's a 40 mile round trip for me to the nearest supermarket, so no popping out for milk or wine on a whim and so I have 2 deliveries a week and two chest freezers and a pantry room full of food for the weeks we are snowed in.

When you live your life 5 months of the year expecting to be unable to leave the house for a week or so at a time due to adverse weather you are always lockdown ready!

Plenty of slots 4 days from now for delivery and options for click and collect for 2 days time.
Maybe we are just behind the curve.

You'd think that everyone learnt their lesson from March/April wouldn't you.

There are slots where I live so it may be just your area. Hopefully some will pop up soon for you!

Sorry you're having this problem. 3 year olds & supermarkets aren't any fun!

I'm SE, I could get a slot with any of the supermarkets.

I couldn't get an ocado slot, but I've been having issues getting one since start of September when they switched to M and S food so think it may be linked to that rather than the pandemic. I had no issue getting a Sainsbury slot - they'd sent me a voucher so thought I'd try them.

I gave to admit I’ve used my Asda delivery pass to get a weekly recurring slot for elderly parents. I was happy to do their shop in the summer but the thought of doing it in the winter fills me with dread and anxiety 😩. I’ll do mine at the same time and collect my shopping from their garage so I don’t have to go in the house.

Slots seem ok-ish where I am, however, I think this will change quickly after today. Really hope people are not going to go mad again with the shopping like last time 😩 If you can't get an online delivery OP, could you try a Click and Collect slot?

I do click and collect, no problem with slots.

Thanks OP, I just checked as was planning to get a shop tomorrow for Thursday but none here til Saturday, and only priority slots then, there are a very few normal slots on Sunday night. Surprised as it's been v easy to get slots for the next day for ages now, so demand definitely stepping up. I appreciate your post as it means I now have a shop coming this week!

I think it might vary by delivery store. I can only book up to next Tuesday. (We get a delivery every Thursday, and it’s always the same order, so I’d love to just book them in advance).

Just had an email from Iceland telling me they have got 1000’s of slots available

Surrey, and there are absolutely no Ocado slots and earliest slots for Sainsbury’s are in October. Eek!
