Will we be clapping for the NHS again on Thursdays?

Is everyone dusting off their pots and pans in preparation?

As the evenings are drawing in maybe we could light a candle in the window 🤔

GoldenOmber · 22/09/2020 11:43

Oh please no.

MaxNormal · 22/09/2020 11:44

I rather think not.

Didn’t clap then, won’t be clapping now.

Pomegranatepompom · 22/09/2020 11:46

I hope not, I think most of us in the nhs felt it was unnecessary, Tory spin and a bit embarrassing- sorry. We’d prefer better working conditions and investment in the nhs tbh

Jrobhatch29 · 22/09/2020 11:49

I have to admit I was in hospital one of the Thursdays after just having had my baby. I could see all the staff outside from my window and have to admit that was quite emotional. Other than that I hated it. I actually think one of my neighbours was taking a register

user1497873278 · 22/09/2020 11:49

So fucking two faced, yes let’s all stand side by side clapping with our neighbours, after they have returned from clearing out all the toilet rolls from the supermarkets again

aquamarine1 · 22/09/2020 11:51

Under no circumstances.

user1497873278 · 22/09/2020 11:53

Yay others that think like me, I have deep respect for the nhs but feel that they need pay rises and safe working conditions not pathetic clapping

labellesusage · 22/09/2020 11:53

No

Timeforanotherusername · 22/09/2020 11:54

Nope.

I am so grateful for all that they do.

But the busy bodies commenting on the local Facebook group how they were so ashamed of their neighbours completely spoiled it for me.

Although my actual neighbours are great and it was a good chance to say hello.

But some of the comments on social media really disgusted me.

peachescariad · 22/09/2020 11:54

No

SonjaMorgan · 22/09/2020 11:57

I rather pay more taxes so they can be paid a decent wage.

PicsInRed · 22/09/2020 11:58

Cowbells and vuvuzuelas, clappy clappy clappy clappy DINGDINGDINGDING 🎉 😉

PinkMacaron · 22/09/2020 12:04

Yep, let's all clap for the NHS, and then vote in the Conservatives at the next election regardless. Yay!!!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 22/09/2020 12:09

I didn’t clap last time so there’s not a chance of me doing it now. I was pissed off when one of the neighbours pointed out we’d been missed on a Thursday night!

PinkMacaron · 22/09/2020 12:11

One of the good things to come out of the lockdown is we at least now know which of our neighbours would be collaborators if the UK was ever invaded.

IrmaFayLear · 22/09/2020 12:14

Ha ha.

At least it would be dark and a missing neighbour wouldn’t be so easily spotted.

It was super awkward doing a half-wave at people you’d never seen before (we live in an unfriendly place). The most fun was clapping joggers going past who looked really embarrassed as people cheered them on!

cyclingmad · 22/09/2020 12:14

I'd be wanting off this planet if that returns.

KatherineJaneway · 22/09/2020 12:15

No. It had its place but its over now. Let's not revisit.
