So cross about testing times

My DC developed a cough and temp of 38.8 on Thursday. Got a test Saturday and still not received results. My kids now missed 3 days of school, swimming lessons, football match, music lessons and tennis lessons. They are miserable and miss their friends.

I joke about having to homeschool, but it’s not too bad. But what upsets me the most is the impact on my kids mental and emotional welfare. It’s not ok! The whole point of testing surely is to get a quick result so that if it’s positive there is a quick response. I don’t call 6 days a quick response!!!!!

Sorry I’m just ranting and people in RL have heard it all so needed somewhere new to rant.

@Flower262 oh bugger, hope you all don’t feel too badly and recover quickly. What were you symptoms?

Longdistance · 22/09/2020 23:44

Aww, @Flower262 sorry to hear that. What a complete fuck up Angry
Op, hope you get your results soon.
A tip... new appointments are released from 8pm. Worth trying and refreshing your page around then to get an appointment.

My son had a cold and slight cough. He coughs maybe once or twice an hour to clear his throat. Rang school to so I could reassure him that if he coughs once or twice he wont be sent home. I was told , yes he will so he has to get a test!! So now we all have to isolate because he has no coronavirus symptoms and I got a test which could be used by someone who is actually ill!!

We had a very similar scenario, and I also wasn’t allowed to send my other children in. Luckily it was all sorted quickly and they only missed one day of school.
