Positive case numbers for teachers and schools?

Wondering why I can't find any data on this for the UK. With so many cases being reported, you'd think it would be a good idea to track or collate data on positive cases in schools? As a parent, I'd certainly like to know what the figures are. As a teaching assistant I'd like to know my chances of not getting it!

My local paper has a running list of schools who have students/teachers who have tested positive. They don't give numbers but do tell you the school and in some cases the year groups affected.

I would assume the numbers are being tracked too by either local health services or nationally. I don't think they would share those with the public though.

I think the fact that you're asking this on MN rather than being given information by DfE and your school shows the abject abandonment of the most basic responsibility for a safe workplace and safe schools that is happening in the UK.

I'd suggest you speak to your union if possible. You're not being treated fairly, OP, I'm sorry but that's the truth.

There have been at least 1481 schools affected across the UK and counting. Don’t know how many people that includes though. Many of those will be isolated cases and multiple infection sites were at about 14.5% of total at last update. That was a few days ago though when total schools were lower. This number has been rising steadily even with total schools climbing at increased pace day on day though.
