Lockdown 2

What will you do to financially keep afloat if and when another lockdown happens ? (I’m in London so we haven’t had another lockdown yet but I’m aware some places have already)

Those of you who have still been on lockdown - how are you managing to get by?

I’m very nervous about another lockdown when it happens. I’m self employed. Single parent. I got the self employment grant last time but there’s no more grants coming. Work isn’t busy enough for me to bang out the hours and get some extra cash to save for when lockdown happens. I’m so scared

I'm in North east in local lockdown. Everywhere is open, we just can't mix households. No businesses have been made to close yet

I won't be able to keep afloat if there is another lockdown like last time. Only furlough kept me going then. Hopefully it won't come to that and schools/non essential businesses are allowed to stay open.

We’re in local lockdown. Everything’s open, we can go to the pub, shops etc, everyone’s back at work. There’s no issues, you just can’t visit someone’s house.

Self-employed single-mum here. Not sure what I’ll do. Ran out of money in august then the schools went back and I’ve been able to work again. I have a job interview tomorrow for regular paid work - which I won’t be able to take if the schools go. Food banks I guess.

I was made redundant last time, thankfully I got something else and wfh so hopefully I will be OK. My husband works in hospitality though. We have a small nest egg in the bank as well so hopefully enough to tide us over. It’s totally shit x let’s hope they don’t close businesses

Thanks for the information about those who are currently in lockdown and it’s just your unable to mix households but everything’s still open. That’s really made me feel a little optimistic.

I think the food bank may be my only saving grace if we have another full lockdown as like some of you guys - I will have nothing coming in if we go into full lockdown like before.

I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that Star
