So stupid - home test error

Char2015 · 21/09/2020 17:50

I've done a test for me and my daughter. I was rushing to get to postbox to get them posted so thought I would register once I get home. Stupid me forgot to get Royal Mail barcode of the boxes and now I can't register them which means I won't get the results. I can't believe how stupid I've been. And now my poor kids will not be able to go back to school. My daughter already on day 5 of symptoms so can't arrange another home test and all testing centres are miles away and we have no access to car.

I don’t know about the Royal Mail tracking code (which I forgot to take a picture of), but the barcode number needed to register the test is on the front of the instruction booklet I received with my test. Have a look.

I've got the barcode number for the actual test just not the royal mail code. When I was registering it asked for the royal mail code. I had to abandon the registration as it would not let me proceed without. I've since found another official registration site where I have managed to register the tests (obviously without royal mail code) and got on-screen confirmation which I have printed. Just no email confirmation which I am not sure I should have received. Fingers crossed it has all gone through ok. I have proof of registration so if I haven't received results in a few days I will telephone the helpline.

I didn’t get a confirmation email.

Provided you’ve registered your details, it should be fine.

Phone 119 and register them that way. The lady who registered mine didn't ask for the royal mail bar code and when I queried it she said they only need it if it's going to be courier collection.

Thanks all.

I phoned 119, they checked and my online registration went through. Panic over.
