My mother is seriously ill at home and needs both me and my sister to visit and help her. There is NO WAY that we are going to stop doing this. Fine me as much as you want Boris....you've screwed up and I'm not sacrificing my mothers health, my own sanity and my family's wellbeing just because your world beating track and trace was a pile of UTTER BULLSHIT. FUCK OFF>

The didn't ask you to stop. Even at the height of lockdown you would have been allowed to do this.

CrunchyCarrot · 21/09/2020 11:38

Sorry to hear that, PostPandemic. Are the rules where you are not allowing you to visit her?

backaftera2yearbreak · 21/09/2020 11:39

👏 👏 👏

You do what you need to do 💖. I too am sick of all this.

cherryblossommorningstoday · 21/09/2020 11:41

You have always been able to go and visit the vulnerable to provide support. This is the case now and was the case even in March/April.

I had to do the same for my shielding parents but tried to implement as many other controls as I could whilst I was there (masks, gloves, sanitiser, not using their bathroom, etc.)

SheepandCow · 21/09/2020 11:44

I'm sorry about your mother.
The government's message over reduced contact (to protect other people's mother's from getting ill) does not (and has never) included people providing care to and visiting the vulnerable or ill. You can continue to visit your mother as usual.

PineconeOfDoom · 21/09/2020 11:46

You sound like a tantruming child

TheSeedsOfADream · 21/09/2020 11:47

I don't think you understand what's been said.
Or that the govt probably doesn't read MN.

Houseplanted · 21/09/2020 11:49

No one has said you need to stop being a carer for your mum.

Tangledyarn · 21/09/2020 11:52

No one has ever said you cant continue to provide care for people who need it.
