Taking DD to Cardiff for a few days tomorrow for a late birthday treat. We will be travelling by train and staying in a hotel. Would you go with the news that we are now in a second wave?

I'd go now whilst you still can.

I would check the Covid precautions for every hotel/restaurant/attraction that you are visiting. Pack a warm jumper/shawl and try to eat in well ventilated areas, if not outside. I am not sure where you are coming from but GWR intercity trains down from London to Bristol have been very quiet.

Wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands regularly and try not to touch your face.

Enjoy the sunny weather.

I'd not book one, but I would probably go on one I'd already booked.

Similar boat to you OP. supposed to be seeing my parents tomorrow with my toddler, have a train booked :( torn about whether we should travel. Have you decided?

PurpleDaisies · 20/09/2020 20:30

I’d go. Got one booked for next weekend and I’m looking forward to it.

ChodeOfChodeBall · 20/09/2020 20:34

I would certainly be going. I have just returned from a short city break. Visited restaurants, museums, galleries and shops. Apart from the bloody masks, and having to book advance tickets for museums, it was thoroughly enjoyable.

@cannonball8726

Yes have decided to go, I think a break will do us both good. Had a bad start to the year and then covid hit so I think this will help us to get away and relax and have a change of scenery.
