Circuit break lockdown

Does anyone else think it won’t make much difference and will just be extended and extended like the last one?
I think as long as schools remain open (and I don’t want them closed, even though I was shielded last time) it won’t make a massive difference. Also last time it took WEEKS for cases to drop - two weeks won’t be enough. Are we basically going to be put into lockdown for months again?

I agree OP. With schools staying open and the sense of normality that goes with it, there's no chance of the spread declining.

I think they are trying to find the balance of keeping as much open as possible and transmission as low as can be expected.

What other options are there?

And I don't think there are any right answers.

If transmission is rife around your local area many will naturally stay in/not spend.
If everything shuts down the economy tanks.

We all understand the arguments and issues.

It's finding that fine line balance to save as many jobs as possible and prevent as many unnecessary infections as possible as well.

Whilst keeping education open, health care for all requirements and mental health and loneliness.

It's so difficult to argue for or against any position because they are all valid.

What exactly will a circuit break involve? I keep reading its coming into force on Tuesday.

Yep said it on the other thread on this, no lockdown is only two weeks worldwide we know it isn’t long enough

Circuit break isn't happening yet. I think (only my opinion, nobody really knows, guessing not even the bloody government!) it will involve pub curfews, no mixing with other households (basically what is happening in areas with increased restrictions) but it will happen country wide rather than localised areas.
