What are your school’s Covid precautions?

Just curious what Covid measures your DCs’ schools have in place. DC at private primary school and it’s business as usual.

No temperature checks before entering. Staff not wearing masks and parents not required to wear them at indoor start of term meeting. Books brought home and returned to school. No requirement to wash uniform every day. No staggered start or end times. Parents congregating at pick up time.

The only Covid change I am aware of is that different year groups don’t play together or eat together. Is this the same for you?

The majority of things you gave written are in line with the guidance. The only one that shouldn't be happening is parents congregating in groups. If you have some free time this is the guidance given to schools (but they keep changing bits) - www.gov.uk/government/publications/actions-for-schools-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak/guidance-for-full-opening-schools

Not meant to temperature check or have masks in primary. Uniform can be washed as normal. Books can be taken home. Staggered start depends on school and if it would work in the setting, not compulsory.

I'm in secondary, we have zones for year groups, masks in corridors, lots of hand sanitiser and the windows open. Have a slight stagger at start and end but not much due to buses.

The Headteacher is at the gate to cast an eye over all the students and make sure only parents of nursery kids go in. She also rejects any parent/student holding any homework folder/reading books that are only allowed in on Monday and out on Fridays.

Also, the school day is staggered by 20 mins.

Otherwise, the usual government guidance.

We were sent this. Also have different year groups starting/finishing at different times - secondary school in Scotland

Staff not wearing masks and parents not required to wear them at indoor start of term meeting

Staff not wearing masks is per government guidance. Parents shouldn't have been required to wear one at the meeting if they were socially distanced (sat 2m apart).

If it makes you uncomfortable, then write to the school and see what can be changed.
