What do those of us relying on grandparents for babysitting do? Could those in already restricted areas shed any light on this perhaps please? Thanks.

Just waiting for the posts saying "If I invite DDs 6 best friends round for a playdate then I have to look after them so that's the same as childcare so definitely legal."

Can people WFH,work flexibly , take leave

None of these are a long term solution anyway. Yes I do work from home. Can I do my job effectively whilst also caring for my 4.5 year old, and retaining time for my own self care and sanity? No. No I can't. And I haven't got enough leave to take 3 months' worth.

Yeah, because all parents are selfish feckless rule breakers. People on this thread aren’t looking for loopholes so they can have a jolly. They just need someone to care for their children while they work to put food on the table.

Thank God for that!!

I don't know why it's only took till now for the government to mention childcare. I'm in Greater Manchester and we've been in local lockdown for weeks not allowed to mix households but of course for childcare we have too , not that it's ever been clarified.
Also it's never made any difference the cases are going up still .
