Corona / Breast Lump

DD’s best friend has just had back her corona test results today and it’s positive.

Track and trace have called and taken details of everyone she has been in close contact with since Monday, she had a cold from Tuesday, occasional cough Friday. Tested Friday, results today.

I gave her a lift for on Sunday afternoon, in the car 5 minutes with windows open, no masks. She sat behind me.

I have an appointment on Tuesday at the hospital for them to investigate a lump in my breast. I’ve been referred under the 2 week scheme.

I’ll have to cancel this won’t I, when do you think they will see me. I’m very worried.

I'd suggest ringing the hospital tomorrow as the department might be open, and if not someone else might be able to advise, to ask what you should do. I would think they might ask you to postpone but it might depend how far into the 2 weeks you are in relation to the 2 week scheme.

Yes ring and ask. They will fit you in as soon as they possibly can I am sure.

Only the breast unit can answer I'm afraid. The two week referral can be outside that period if the patient cancels the appt. They won't delay any longer than they have to though.

I also have a 2 week appointment at the breast clinic on tue for a lump, I’m also hoping no one in my house gets Ill between now and then 🤞🏾

I’ll give them a call. The 2 weeks is up on Wednesday, so if they say I have to wait 14 days from when I saw her - then guess it will be around Monday week, 28th. That isn’t too bad is it, would be 2 wks 5 days.

In my head I had thought it would be 4 weeks !

I know the likelihood is low of my having caught it in a car with open windows for 5mins but imagine if I had!

Fingers crosses I won’t have corona and lump will be something and nothing.
