Masks for older children

My eldest DD has anxiety and has been wearing paper masks while out and about as a control measure to help her feel secure. She now wants to try reusable ones because she is environmentally aware and doesn't like the waste of disposable, but she has quite a narrow face and standard size masks are a bit loose on her. She just wants a couple of attractive ones that fit well. She's 11. Does anyone know where I could find some for her please?

Try here www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LindyLouCrafts23
There are adult and child listings. I have the adult ones after a recommendation on here and they are good, don't know about the child ones personally but worth a look perhaps?

UnaMujer · 19/09/2020 14:18

I thought it was over 11’s so children age 12 and above that should be wearing them?

UnaMujer · 19/09/2020 14:20

I’ve just double checked and I’m wrong sorry.

dementedpixie · 19/09/2020 14:22

If you're in Scotland its over 5s

tywysoges · 19/09/2020 14:24

DD (also 11) has a small face and has masks from Tesco (the size 4-8 years old one) and the kids one from gap.

TartanDMs · 19/09/2020 14:24

No worries Una. She gets a bus to school and as I say is anxious anyway so it's for her own comfort when she is out and about.

Thanks Raingod I will show her that link, just looked and I have seen some she might really like. And they have adult buzz lightyear ones!

thanks Tywysoges don't have a gap near us but do have a Tesco, i had discounted the 4-8 one as for a smaller child but if it fits your dd it might fit mine

I've got all mine from a local seller on Facebook. I have various ones, mainly flowers but also some plain ones.

fruitpastille · 19/09/2020 14:36

We have someone local who makes and sells them. Might be worth checking Facebook for someone in your area? We also like the superdrug ones but they are a little loose on my 11 year old.

I bought just one pack initially because I was afraid it might be too small, but it fits her perfectly. I have since gone back for 2 more packs. I had a quick look at the reviews at gap online and loads of people saying they are too small, which might be why they fit nicely too Grin

I’ve also seen some with adjustable straps, will see if I can find them as they might be good too.

dementedpixie · 19/09/2020 14:37

Morrisons does kids ones in a multipack. Dont know what the sizing is like though

tywysoges · 19/09/2020 14:40

These ones! I might order a pack and see what they’re like.

Donuts000 · 19/09/2020 14:55

Everydaybasicss on Etsy have 3 layer cotton masks with filter if wanted. They also have adjustable ear elastic and nose wires. I spent a while looking and these are perfect. Their child size fits my daughter aged 13. They also wash well and are plain for school. I have bought a few from them and they are great Smile

TartanDMs · 19/09/2020 15:15

Thanks everyone I have a few places to try now! I think a 2 layer is fine to be honest, not really that fussed about the filter pocket, it's a placebo more than anything although I'd never say that to her, she is anxious enough
