Walk in test centre - test for child

Just wondering if anyone had attended a walk in test centre for a coronavirus test for their child?

I have just booked one for tomorrow morning and have received the email with the QR code for my child. On this its states bring id (driving licence or passport) but doesn't make it clear if needed for children does anyone know if this is required?

I don't think I have enough hours to wrack my brain to find and dig out his passport which is years out of date SadSad

I didn’t get asked for any ID at a walk in rest centre today. They just scanned my code and asked me to confirm my name and date of birth.

I’d take your driving license or passport if you have one. But they didn’t ask to see my son’s. Still, would be horrible to be turned away. At least if you’ve got ID ...

Also take tissues and a treat for afterwards for your child. The test is fairly... unpleasant.

It does say further down the email (iirc) that ID is only required for over 18s.

Some children find the test OK, don't worry.

Hope all is well.

I took DS for a test a week ago. He is 17 months old & no passport. They didn’t ask to see any ID so hopefully you wont be asked to

Thank you all. Will take my id along just in case. Neither of us looking forward to him having the test but has to be done!

If it makes you feel any better my 2 year old had the test this week and he was fine with it. He pulled a face etc but didnt cry or anything and when it was done just asked if he could have a banana haha.
