Wondering why blackpool hasn't got any restrictions. In my area with have lower daily cases then them but we have the restrictions.

Probably the illuminations being seen as vital to the local economy

Waxonwaxoff0 · 18/09/2020 19:53

Money from tourists coming for the illuminations.

It is Tory heartland now...£££ is what it is all about now.

They've already lost Strictly, they can't take more bad news

Witchend · 18/09/2020 19:55

Locally I'm told they're having suspicions on the illuminations having an influence.

It's just the way the boundaries are set. Lancashire county council area has imposed restrictions and surrounds Blackpool, but Blackpool has it's own council (not part of Lancashire County Council) and infections not YET high enough for the restrictions. Give it another week or so!

JaceLancs · 18/09/2020 20:23

I’m in an area of Lancashire with much lower rates of infection than Blackpool - no idea why they have been singled out for special treatment other than Blackpool council made a better argument than LCC

Fresh sea air, does you the world of good.

Sadless · 18/09/2020 20:40

Some one told me it was because people in blackpool do as they are told and are keeping the rates down.

Lol. Have they ever been to Blackpool? That is one thing I am certain is not correct (having lived there)
