Comfortable mask for glasses wearers

Right MN hive mind - I’ve recently gone back to the office and now have to wear a face mask for most of the day, as well as at school pick ups. Up till now I’ve put up with a variety of sub standard masks that either steam up my glasses, hurt my ears or move around on my face. This was fine for occasional trips to a petrol station but isn’t going to work for hours at a time...

So what should I buy before I waste yet more money?!

These are pricey but dd gets on ok with them at school and she wears glasses

The papery surgical ones I've found to be best. They have a bendy bit for the top of the nose and I tuck the top bit under my glasses.

ones with the wire at the top to mould close to your face, so glasses don't get steamed up.

I have ones from Boden like that.

I used one of these today and it was a dream - but then I had environmental guilt 🤦‍♀️

The ones I linked to have a nose wire too

Toomanyapplesinthefruitbowl · 17/09/2020 17:37

Sorry that was about the paper one with the nose clip!

I use the paper ones, but upside down! I put the none wire end under my glasses and that really does work for me. If I put the wire end under my glasses- they steam up!

Those swim cell ones look great, thank you

I use a ‘nylon’ stretchy mask and it doesn’t steam up my glasses. On the minus side I’ve had as many styes since mask wearing as in the previous 30 years.

A MNer recommended an etsy shop, www.etsy.com/uk/shop/lindyloucrafts23 and I have been very pleased with them. My glasses have stopped steaming up - i went for the two layer ones as they are a bit lighter.

My swimcell ones arrived - absolutely perfect so thanks for the recommendation!

Raingods I ordered a couple from there for my DD and myself yesterday 🙃

RaingodsWithZippos · 23/09/2020 22:30

TartanDMs just saw your post, have they come yet? I hope you love them, I feel a bit responsible for the recommendation now Grin

MoreHairyThanScary · 23/09/2020 22:33

I had a cheap reusable from Clinton's cards ( go figure) stretchy fabric and a nose wire with adjustable ear straps most comfortable so far.

TartanDMs · 24/09/2020 14:28

Raingods they came yesterday morning and I have to say I can't fault them. DD is happy and I have worn mine round Aldi without misty specs or sweaty chin lol so thanks for the recommendation- you don't need to worry!!!

RaingodsWithZippos · 25/09/2020 19:18

ah thats great TartanDMs 😁

I've been blessed with a large nose, and find the ones with a wire at the top just don't work. Has anyone have experience of ones with a valve that are supposed to stop glasses steaming up?
