Want to Calculate your Covid age?

Apologies if there is already a thread for this, I checked the Covid topic list of thread titles but couldn't see one.

Calculate your Covid Age here

This table starts with your actual age and then adds (or subtracts) years according to your particular vulnerabilities, which gives you a "Covid Age". So if you are actually 35 but have a Covid age of 75, you should be treated as having the same vulnerability as an otherwise-healthy 75 year old. Scrolling down the page further it then gives estimated risk and fatality rates for the covid age you come up with.

I found this useful.

Thanks, OP, DH and I both came in the 50-70 group, He is 59 and I am 62 so all good really. It looks like some quite young people could have a quite old Covid age

Bettyboop89 · 17/09/2020 14:08

I’m 31 but came in at 42 because of my BMI Sad

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 17/09/2020 14:13

I’m a 30-something again! (Actually 41 but being female pulls me down and am ridiculously healthy so nothing to pull me back up again.)

Am wondering if I should change my outfit to something more appropriately young as I am now back in my 30s.....

Waxonwaxoff0 · 17/09/2020 14:19

31 and my real age is 30. -5 for being female and +6 for being slightly overweight.

Miraculous · 17/09/2020 14:21

Mine is lower than my actual age so I’m happy.

lughnasadh · 17/09/2020 14:23

Covid 39, but I'm actually 44.

eenymeenyminyme · 17/09/2020 14:26

I'm 49 but my covid age is 44. Pretty happy with that!

movingonup20 · 17/09/2020 14:29

I'm 5 years lower (white, female, bmi of 26)

Spreadingcomfrey · 17/09/2020 14:30

I can't look at the table properly on my ancient device. Does it assess your general level of fitness anywhere like "can you walk briskly for a mile" ? Surely your basic general daily activity and fitness levels are significant when calculating this? Or maybe not the way they have set it up? Does anyone know?

Jrobhatch29 · 17/09/2020 14:31

I'm 32 covid age is 27!

LondonJax · 17/09/2020 14:32

Mine's five years younger than my true age so I'm happy with that!

PeskyRooks · 17/09/2020 14:36

I'm 44 and 10 months covid age 45. Pretty ok with that could be worse!

nex18 · 17/09/2020 14:54

-5 for being female, +5 for being a bit fat, back to my own age!

Showchin2 · 17/09/2020 15:01

Exactly! I'm in my early 50s but my covid age is almost 70! I walk 5 miles a day and consider myself to be very fit; apparently not!Sad
PineappleUpsideDownCake · 17/09/2020 15:01

Fat and 40s so end up on 50s. I never quite know what "moderate" rather than vhigh risk means in terms of if I got it. I just escaped shielding the first time.

Im also not able to walk briskly.... (see above) I really dont want to get it but need kids to go to school etc. We're trying to minimise risk again outside of that.

Reassurung asthma is only 1!? Although depends how they define asthma. I have a steroid inhaler but it didnt end up counting as severe for sheilding purposes so I counted it as mild.

LowLou · 17/09/2020 15:06

I'm 48 but my coverage is 61Sad

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 17/09/2020 15:07

I read being mixed race is the same risk as being white....

Funkypolar · 17/09/2020 15:14

I knocked 5 years off my life. Cool.

EmmaWithTheGreatHair · 17/09/2020 15:14

I’m 50 but Covid age is 64!

Cloudhopping · 17/09/2020 15:17

Please note that it does change quite frequently depending on ongoing research findings. For example, those with asthma previously had to add more years but as time has gone on studies have shown those with cardiovascular issues, diabetes etc are at higher risk of serious complications from Covid so the ‘years to be added’ have increased for those groups and reduced for those other than severe asthmatics.

It is also not an exact science and the whole picture needs to be looked at. For example a very young person may be undergoing chemo but will struggle to reach a high Covid risk age category in this but they would still be deemed as high risk. It is used as a guide only for employment advice.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 17/09/2020 15:20
