Coughing but also a cold

My dd (16) came home from school yesterday (they called) as she was feeling poorly. Felt a bit sick, dizzy and sore throat. We kept her off today and she's full of the cold but now coughing quite a lot too.

Do we need to get her booked for a test as I know coughing is a main symptom. It seems like a chesty cough rather than a dry cough, so am pretty sure it's just a cold.

Yes, she needs to be tested and the household needs to isolate until the test results are back.

The only way to know for sure if a cough is a COVID cough or a cold cough is to have a COVID test.

We had to - knew when DD had a cold and was full of snot that it was going to end up with her coughing and spoke to the Head about it the other day... bam overnight she's started with the cough. We know full well what it is, school knows full well what it is - but they are taking the line it's a new cough so want a test done.

Hasn't been that bad to be fair - couple of hours of dedicated refreshing the test booking page and we got one about 40 mins away the same day.
