How long do we have to isolate? Finding the guidance really unclear.

So we are self-isolating as of this morning as DD11 woke up with an altered sense of smell and taste. Notified school, both DDs are logging on to school from home, I was already working from home. Can't get a test of course...

Assuming I do get her tested before the 5 days are up, a negative test would mean she could return to school but would me and DD12 still have to isolate for 14 days? Or can we return if she has a negative test? It really isn't clear!

10 days for the person with symptoms and 14 days for those without - if she gets a positive test
If the test is negative you all come out of isolation

If the person with the original symptoms tests negative then you can all be released from isolation (as long as none of you have any of the triad of symptoms)

This is the guide our school has circulated - we are not in Northern Ireland but this is clear and concise. Has anyone seen one for England?! Assume it would have the same content on it.

Oh good, I was worried we'd all be off for 2 weeks regardless. No idea if it is coronavirus or not, of course, it is odd that she woke up saying things 'smelt bad' and that she had a funny taste in her mouth. But she's well in herself so we'll isolate and hope for the best. About half her class are off awaiting a test I think.
