"Can people please just stop getting tested? By being tested You are potentially adding to the problem and increasing the chances of taking us into a 2nd lockdown? The tests are not accurate because they detect fragments of RNA in people who aren't even infectious which are then counted as a "new case". All you are doing is giving the Government the numbers of new cases they're looking for to extend the emergency powers for 2 years and take us into a winter lockdown.

Just stop the testing and the false positives will disappear overnight! If you are seriously unwell call 111. But if you are well enough to get yourself to a testing centre then you are most likely fine. Quarantine at home for 2 weeks just to be on the safe side. Eat whole foods with plenty of cruciferous vegetables and take plenty of Zinc, Vitamin C and D3 and then crack on!

You don't need to wear a positive covid test like a badge of honour for absolutely no reason when you don't have any symptoms.

If you think spring/summer incarceration was bad, wait until it’s dark more than it is light, no garden to enjoy because it’s cold and rainy, no family festivities to look forward to, no christmas markets or shopping, no taking the kids to see Father Christmas? Plus your standard normal winter illnesses to throw into the mix and add to the COVID numbers regardless. This is what they need to drive the vaccination narrative.

More people will continue to die of suicide, hypertension and undiagnosed cancers than EVER before! Our elderly will die sooner than they should because they will be restricted to their usual things that keep them sane, like community groups and visits from their relatives.

We all need social interaction, we all need to exercise and mix with each other to get germs to thrive, to keep our immune system working and stay healthy. I don’t need a paid off scientist to do research to tell me that! END THIS NOW! “

That post doing the rounds is one of the most fucking stupid things I’ve seen on FB recently...and that’s saying something. Seems to be the thick as shit usual crowd that are sharing it too

Cribbins · 15/09/2020 19:08

Let’s ban pregnancy tests...then we as a nation can save a fortune on maternity wards, neonatal care and teachers as there will be no children.

NancyBotwinBloom · 15/09/2020 19:18

I was ill AF for two weeks. All the symptoms and it was negative.

My daughters dance teacher had only a loss of smell. Was positive.

I don't know what the answer is.

Howslifenow · 15/09/2020 19:33

Why to isolate as well. Lead normal life and pass on to others. Dangerous thinking here OP. Testing helps to control Covid as other countries have managed.

MilkGoatee · 15/09/2020 19:42

Tell that to the workers, and the business, in a town close to me. One of their colleagues was being tested because his mum was diagnosed with Covid. But he decided to go into work before he had the results, subsequently infecting another 11 people (the biggest uptick in the region for a long long while) and causing the business to close down. Which didn't just affect the workers, but also the local farmers and the local business customers.

GoldenOmbre,

Please don't dismiss cruciferous conspiracies - there's youtube videos by drs. or scientists. And there was an article in the Daily Telegraph. and the Daily Mail. How much more authoritative could there be?

StealthPolarBear · 15/09/2020 20:41

I've had broccoli tonight, can anyone tell me if I am now immune?

GoldenOmber · 15/09/2020 20:44

Was it that fancy Romanesco stuff?

Witchend · 15/09/2020 20:45

No. Only smarties have the answer...
eaglejulesk · 15/09/2020 21:12

if nothing else this pandemic has demonstrated the previously unimaginable high level of stupid living amongst us...

Yep - frightening isn't it.

StealthPolarBear · 15/09/2020 22:39

It was tenderstwm, is that fancy enough?

chipsandgin · 15/09/2020 23:20

Oh OP. Can’t believe you fell for something CLEARLY produced by the cruciferous vegetables industry to advance their evil plans. WAKE UP SHEEPLE! 😂

Damn it, the evil, complicated and long winded plans of broccoli farmers to cause a global economic crisis are finally uncovered!

CrunchyCarrot · 16/09/2020 07:07

OMG I have broccoli in my fridge!! I am DOOMED!!

Stinkyguineapig · 16/09/2020 07:25

If the person who wrote it is going to bankroll everyone who stays at home for 2 weeks (possibly several times) to be on safe side, fine. Otherwise, no.
In March we were told to isolate if someone had symptoms because testing wasnt available in the community. Testing should be available now and the government is BS that it is. Yes there might be some false positives, but there are also false negatives, but I still think it's worth testing.
Otherwise you will get some people staying in for 2 weeks needlessly when their temp was something else and gone in 3 days OR people that assume their cough is "just a cold" and go about life spreading it when it is covid.
The fb post is similar to the fb meme doing the rounds in March
"Your grandparents had to fight in the war, all you have to do is stay in and watch netflix" shared by people that already wfh, SAHMs with well paid DH that could wfh, and stockbrokers.
