"Can people please just stop getting tested? By being tested You are potentially adding to the problem and increasing the chances of taking us into a 2nd lockdown? The tests are not accurate because they detect fragments of RNA in people who aren't even infectious which are then counted as a "new case". All you are doing is giving the Government the numbers of new cases they're looking for to extend the emergency powers for 2 years and take us into a winter lockdown.

Just stop the testing and the false positives will disappear overnight! If you are seriously unwell call 111. But if you are well enough to get yourself to a testing centre then you are most likely fine. Quarantine at home for 2 weeks just to be on the safe side. Eat whole foods with plenty of cruciferous vegetables and take plenty of Zinc, Vitamin C and D3 and then crack on!

You don't need to wear a positive covid test like a badge of honour for absolutely no reason when you don't have any symptoms.

If you think spring/summer incarceration was bad, wait until it’s dark more than it is light, no garden to enjoy because it’s cold and rainy, no family festivities to look forward to, no christmas markets or shopping, no taking the kids to see Father Christmas? Plus your standard normal winter illnesses to throw into the mix and add to the COVID numbers regardless. This is what they need to drive the vaccination narrative.

More people will continue to die of suicide, hypertension and undiagnosed cancers than EVER before! Our elderly will die sooner than they should because they will be restricted to their usual things that keep them sane, like community groups and visits from their relatives.

We all need social interaction, we all need to exercise and mix with each other to get germs to thrive, to keep our immune system working and stay healthy. I don’t need a paid off scientist to do research to tell me that! END THIS NOW! “

Thanks for sharing, OP. I agree with this post. People need to think long and hard about risk assessment and the life they want to live in the future. Our rights are being taken from us and the rationale does not make sense.

chipsandgin · 15/09/2020 17:15

Just 🙄🙄🙄🙄...if nothing else this pandemic has demonstrated the previously unimaginable high level of stupid living amongst us...

I mean of course it makes perfect sense that all the scientists with their silly old PhDs wouldn’t have a clue but your neighbour Dave on facebook has probably nailed it with his batshit conspiracy theories..

I mean he’s probably right eh, the government haven’t just blindly navigated their way through this entire shitshow making poor judgements and fucking up on a grand and fatal scale, oh no, they they’ve actually got a secret plan to, what was it now “look to extend the emergency powers for 2 years and take us into a winter lockdown”. Just a question on that, that benefits them how exactly? Mass unemployment, economy in freefall, even Boris and has merry band of fuckwits couldn’t spin that into something positive!? Why would that be their secret plan!? We’re fucked, as a nation, most economies are globally - was that their secret plan too!?

And yes clearly instead of getting my 16 year old a test and results in 48 hours so he can go to school in this crucial 8 week run up to taking GCSES to allow him to continue the 4xALevels he’s taking I should keep him at home and make him eat vegetables every time he gets a cough. It’s already happened within the first week back, he’s back in as he doesn’t have Corona, if he hadn’t had a test he’d have to be off the rest of this week and next week..

Still, if we go the broccoli route I’ll just tell the University that he applies to that he hasn’t actually got any real GCSE results, or the ALevels he wanted because @Crystal1975 told me he should self isolate and eat veg for two weeks at a time instead of getting a test to back to school after. I’m sure they’ll understand because they know Dave off Facebook too & totally get he is wiser and better informed than those epidemiologists with all their wasted years studying viruses and pandemics...🤦🏼‍♀️.

I’d personally rather have a real idea of the numbers (which is actually what the tests do), have people with Coronavirus detected early and treated effectively, save lives by limiting the spread of the virus to the elderly and vulnerable & have tests available in order that people can get on with their lives, send their kids to school and find a way through all of this without turning into nut jobs who think the government are conspiring against us (seriously they aren’t, they are a bunch of bumbling, self-interested fools who couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery)...but maybe it was Dave that was in charge of ordering the tests cos as it turns out barely anyone can get one anyway (he’s the one with the secret devilish plan after all... ;) ?

Yoffel · 15/09/2020 17:18

It does sound like a Gov bot. Not enough tests and don’t want to be blamed, don’t want to impose lockdown again and be blamed/have to provide for those furloughed - just get everyone to to quarantine voluntarily, problem solved!

doubleshotespresso · 15/09/2020 17:18

I think you need to review your fb friends OP seriously

HannaSong · 15/09/2020 17:18

What a load of shit.

Hospital admissions and patients on ventilation have doubled in under two weeks.

StealthPolarBear · 15/09/2020 17:33

The broccoli route :o

MintyMabel · 15/09/2020 17:34

Testing is the key to getting out of this thing. Why can’t people understand that? The countries who did widespread testing early on to find where the community was infected are doing way better than the rest of us. Wuhan opened up by testing its 11 million citizens.

We’ve shut the door after the horse has bolted. But the more testing we do, the more likely we are to avoid prolonged nationwide shutdowns.

Notverybright · 15/09/2020 17:40

Why do you think this has good points op?

It sounds like pure bullshit to me.

Littlepond · 15/09/2020 17:42

Do people really see it as a badge of honour? When I had the virus I felt sort of ashamed, as if I’d not been following the rules properly and it was my fault i got it. I didn’t want to tell people cos I thought they would judge me!

JingsMahBucket · 15/09/2020 17:43

If you think spring/summer incarceration was bad

This is some of the privileged shit I've ever read in my entire life. You not leaving your house to travel all over all and sundry, running your kids to football practice for a couple months isn't incarceration FFS.

This is entire FB post is ignorant of science and facts. Shameful.

Twickerhun · 15/09/2020 17:45

OP you are having us on right? You can’t actually be this thick.

Bupkis · 15/09/2020 17:49

That's some steamy horseshite you have there, op

whatistheworld · 15/09/2020 18:01

are you mad??? we cant afford to lose 2 weeks income as self employed !!! we had NO help from Government apart from a delay in paying one quarters VAT. but its only a delay! we wont be able to afford the food you listed!!
hospital in patients have doubled in the last 2 weeks so its not all false positives!!
please get out of your day dream and into the real world
Thanks

This is also a top rated comment on a story on the daily fail

cjpark · 15/09/2020 18:03

Nonsense. I tell you what.. my DD was sent home from school on Friday with a snotty nose and temperature. Now myself, DH and other DS have only tomorrow left to get a test or else we all have to isolate for a further 9 days. Now realise that my DH and I are both GP's.. We cannot get tested. There are no tests available. People will die because of the lack of primary care and amount of NHS staff unable to work because of the woeful lack of testing.

cdtaylornats · 15/09/2020 18:10

Holyrood's contract for the track and trace app runs for 10 years with Amazon.

mumwon · 15/09/2020 18:28

false negatives can be caused by taking the test to late - apparently if infection goes to lungs there is not enough virus in the throat & nose to test positive
False positives are caused by you having HAD covid - how long ago? unknown - how many? whose stats are accurate? & this means that you have had it recently & that means you still had it & it is relevant to knowing where covid is or has been in a community & that can be useful to where the pandemic is or has been - You might be the source or one of the sources
As for diet - this predisposes that people who get covid have bad diets - yep no one get type 1 or type 2 diabetes unless they have bad diets - wrong!!!!! Type 1 is autoimmune & type 2 can be result of age, cancer treatment or inheritance. Cancer is usually just plain bad luck too - ditto many heart diseases lung diseases etc & going on your diet plan wont stop covid!

amber763 · 15/09/2020 18:32

The entire post is ridiculous but this part "This is what they need to drive the vaccination narrative" just made me think Qanon bullshit. If no one gets tested then life will go back to normal? Incarceration? Get a fucking grip.

halcyondays · 15/09/2020 18:46

Yes, if we all stop getting tested the government will just forget about Covid and won’t bother looking to see how many people are in hospital with it.

I know they’re a shambles but they’re not that stupid.

NotquitewhatImeant · 15/09/2020 18:50

Wow! Brocolli and zinc, who knew?!

supercatlady · 15/09/2020 18:51

If there’s no test there’s no contact tracing of asymptomatic people!

This is as stupid as Donald Trump telling people not to test because it makes USA look bad.

AldiAisleofCrap · 15/09/2020 18:51

Just 🙄🙄🙄🙄...if nothing else this pandemic has demonstrated the previously unimaginable high level of stupid living amongst us...
This.

Runmybathforme · 15/09/2020 18:53

Just wait until the ‘flu season starts. So many idiots say they won’t have the ‘flu jab.

ClinkyMonkey · 15/09/2020 18:59

I don't even know where to start. i mean, even the title of the post 'Seen this on FB' - it doesn't exactly inspire confidence, does it? Who wrote it? A virologist? An expert in pandemics? Or just some armchair pundit who watches the news? Maybe if the title said 'Saw this in the BMJ' ... I would be more inclined to take it seriously.

Sit in the house for two weeks and eat vegetables? I'm just wondering how many times I might have to do this. I mean, if you just assume that you have Covid, rather than getting a test, then that could be a lot of time spent in the house eating vegetables over the winter season. My son has had one of the main symptoms of Covid twice now - that's four weeks in the house already. Luckily, we were able to get him tested and get on with our lives.

Why would the government actively want another lockdown after the economic devastation the last one caused? If the government decides on another lockdown, it will be down to incompetence, not choice.

What's the 'vaccination narrative'? Is there something wrong with wanting a vaccine to be developed? Hmmm, call me cynical, but it's all starting to sound a bit too conspiracy theory-ish and anti-vaxx-y to me.

GoldenOmber · 15/09/2020 19:02

Oh OP. Can’t believe you fell for something CLEARLY produced by the cruciferous vegetables industry to advance their evil plans. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!
