My toddler has a cold, and I'm wondering if I should send him to nursery? No high temp or cough, just runny nose! It good spirits! I'm just not sure. He started nursery last week so guessing it's usual September cold!

Yup! I'm sure most of the kids there have one. They do at ours.

I sent mine with a runny nose this morning too.

I think there was new guidance out about this. If none of the main symptoms and they are well in themselves then send them.

Mine was sneezing and went in, I'm sorry to say but when he started nursery he had a cold on and off for months so prepare yourself.

I had a similar situation last week. My DD has just started nursery and caught a cold immediately! I let her have her AM nap at home so she could definitely get a good sleep and then sent her in! Nursery were fine about it.

Yep, colds are fine! So long as they aren’t obviously unwell. Our nursery has always said if they seem like they’d struggle to join in activities due to feeling poorly & tired, please keep them at home. If it’s just a snotty cold & they are running around as normal, then totally fine!

Yes fine

DD has been in with a snotty nose today as she was as full of beans as ever, no other symptoms. As PP have said if it's just snot without them being miserable our nursery is fine with them going in. They know which rooms have colds going round the children after all!

Yes, I asked the nursery manager last week before sending DD in with a streaming nose. She said it was fine as long as no fever and feeling well enough in herself.

Of course they should go
