Keeping kids amused - self isolating

My kids are self isolating due to coughs, awaiting tests. Mum guilt has kicked in as they are spending too much time on tablets and watching tv already!! I’ve managed to get a few ‘breaks’ off them where we have made something but I have a demanding 1 year old. Thought I was going to get quality time with 1 year old now they are back at school... but no!

My ds 14 and ds8 are isolating while we wait for ds8's test result. Ds8 has watched non stop YouTube and tv all day. I just can't believe they're off already. I'm sweeping that mum-guilt away each time it surfaces. Very very difficult times. I did ask for school work to be sent to my ds14 though.

Does anyone else feel like they cant cope with this long term? It's my ds14 who I find so awkward. Argues with everything and refuses to do his work.

This year is going to be very tricky 😬

I’m struggling to cope already if I have this every few months it will be very disruptive!! Luckily my kids don’t get coughs that often normally although now there are three of them that will probably change!

Try not to worry or have much mum guilt. You could ask for some work to be sent home but honestly, if I have to self isolate then I will spend the time watching too much TV too!! (My job can't be done from home!) It is hard enough for us to deal with let alone the children. So so long as they are happy, doing a bit of school work and healthy, i would sweep that mum guilt away :)
