Test confirmation?!

Finally managed to book a test for this evening after two days of trying! However, once I inputted all of the details, car reg etc and pressed confirm it has taken me back to the homepage. I haven’t received an email or anything. Does this normally happen? Is it registered? I tried to ring the testing site but it just redirects to 119. Why is this so stressful!

Unfortunately I don't think your booking has worked.

You need an email with a code on it that they scan at the test centre. I think I got a text and an email to confirm my booking.

Bollocks! How long did it take for your email to come through, if you don’t mind me asking? The one I booked had 42 spaces so I can’t believe that they all went in the time it took me to type in my reg 😭

Message comes through immediately, I've had a few instances of getting to add number plate and then going back to the beginning. You need a QR code very few places are letting people in without a code now (they were before last Tuesday)

Luckily it is the testing centre only 2 miles from where I live so I might chance it at the allotted time. What an absolute farce.

This happened to me, final page, everything in the system, 'are you sure about this, press confirm ' I did and it went back to the start. I pressed the back button and it showed a 16 digit code which it said it had texted me. Never got a text or email but went to the test centre (1.5 hours drive away) and gave them the code which was useless and they had no record of me/my numberplate/ anything. The lovely gatekeepers said that since Monday if you don't have the QR code they cant do anything when you get there.

When it actually worked the email and text confirmation came immediately.

People without QR codes get turned away.

Farce indeed. It's actually really scary how many people are struggling to get tests.

We had the same issue. If you don't get a confirmation screen then it didn't go through and you're not booked. You'll have to try again. I had this issue when trying to book on my phone but when I went on a computer it worked. Maybe give that a try?

This happened to me yesterday, got there and they had no record of my booking and we were turned away. Then had to drive 80 miles to next available test centre. It’s so annoying.

I posted about this on another thread and a poster said they’d managed to speak to someone on the 119 number who confirmed there was a glitch in the system and the relevant department were looking into it. Yay. But yep, you need the code - it’s not a confirmed booking without it.

You won't get in without he QR code - and they won't have record of you having an appointment. You need to start again....
