Hi just received one of those self testing Covid tests through the post!

It's voluntary and completely picked at random

Has anyone else had one
What happens if you are tested positive?
Surely they let you know straight away, it says you will get results within a week 🤔🤔

they let you know as soon as the result is known but the level of demand on the testing labs they get sent back to is variable - earlier in the summer it was 2 days. currently it can be more like 5. the blurb says within a week because they don't know how long the queue will be the day you submit it.

they are doing the random testing in order to find out more about levels of covid among the general population. if you test positive you will be told to self-isolate for 10 days after which you should be no longer infectious, but the chances of being positive with no symptoms is extremely low.
