Can’t get a test ! London based

Hi

I’ve been trying all day to get a COVID test, I live in east London and my friend said loads came up for her when she tried but nothings coming up for me !

I had a temp of 37.2 last night which has gone down but I have a dry cough.

Anyone have any luck in getting tests ? Do you just keep refreshing where it says change to walk in / drive through or do you refresh the page entirely ?

No home kits available and not able to walk in without appointment

arsenal555 · 13/09/2020 14:51

Was in Bentley road on Thursday with no appointment and got result back a day later

Bedsheets4knickers · 13/09/2020 14:52

We are in Essex
Dp has cough and temp of 38.2 , can not get a test for love nor money . I've got 2 kids and I'm supposed to be on shift tonight . Applying for a mortgage so can not afford to lose money right now but il have to . So stressed 😩

SE13Mummy · 13/09/2020 14:52

Update on Hackney's website says Bentley Road site isn't a drop in today.

loutypips · 13/09/2020 14:52

37.2 is a normal temperature. NHS say a high temp is anything over 38c.

Redolent · 13/09/2020 14:53

Do you mean 38.2?

37.2 is within the range of a normal body temperature.

Francis90 · 13/09/2020 14:59

Thanks for responses just seen update that Hackney isn’t walk in today.

I thought 37 was normal to but saw something online saying it was high.. I’m more concerned with the cough

I just checked my local authority website and they have a walk in centre from 8-8 everyday so for anyone who can’t get a test maybe check your councils website

Exactly the same problem here in north west London. Both my ds have a cold and slight temp and we have not been able to get them tested. We have been checking for 3 days and the site just says nothing available. Does anyone know what we can do?

Bedsheets4knickers · 13/09/2020 15:29

3 days 😢 Christ . I can see what's coming.

yomommasmomma · 13/09/2020 15:42

Can't even our details in now, just getting this

Can’t get a test ! London based
Francis90 · 13/09/2020 15:58

I decided to not go to the walk in as it says it’s not for people who drive there’s no parking and I couldn’t get there unless on public transport so guess I’ve just gotta wait.

@yomommasmomma it did that for me once I just refreshed it and it let me put the info in

They go really we got ours at 9:30 a.m

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 13/09/2020 16:39

Nothing in the North East of England. No home test and now no drive through - was originally told there was spaces - in Gretna Green. Sigh

SimpleComforts · 13/09/2020 16:41

These no appointment drop in centres, are details actually published anywhere? Everything on the NHS site about testing says you need an appointment.

Francis90 · 13/09/2020 16:43

@SimpleComforts then no appointment centre was posted on my boroughs website.. had all the info address opening times etc. If you google your council and Covid testing it should come up if they are offering anything

Revengeofthepangolins · 13/09/2020 16:46

37.2 is definitely does not qualify as a temperature

misselphaba · 13/09/2020 16:47

I tried all day to get a test and finally got one for yesterday in North London. As soon as the slots came up on the site, they were booked up. All slots were gone within 5 - 10 mins.

When I got to the testing centre, we were the only ones there! We were the first people tested that morning. The staff said there were problems with the booking system. So some of the testing centres are empty meanwhile people are sat at home trying to get tests.

SimpleComforts · 13/09/2020 16:53

Thank you Francis. I checked and whilst there seem to be numerous sites in the Borough, they say you need to book an appointment through the NHS site to use any of them.

misselphaba · 13/09/2020 16:56

I think the testing centre I was at yesterday were going to take people without an appointment due to the problems with the booking system. So maybe worth going along. The testing centre was completely empty bar us.

Francis90 · 13/09/2020 16:58

@SimpleComforts ohh okay yes mine showed a few sites that appointment only via NHS but had one site for walk in but was for residents who live in the borough only I guess it’s different everywhere

Tests are available at the walk in centre in Deptford (in case you're SE)

Painsnail · 13/09/2020 17:14

Same here in Southwark. Been trying to get my daughter a test for 2 days now and nothing. Feeling so stressed by it

Francis90 · 13/09/2020 20:12

I managed to get a test 5 Mins ago ..for tomorrow not in my borough but 20 mins away It must be right that they release more at 8pm.

I put one letter wrong for my car reg though was trying to do it quickly so the slot didn’t go.. hope that won’t matter
