Ending self isolation question

DD & I have had a covid test. Mine’s come back negative, DD’s came back unclear so going for a re-test today. We’ve both had same symptoms- runny nose, high temperature and cough - so pretty sure hers will be negative too but obviously need to have that confirmed.

Do I need to keep isolating along with the rest of the family until her result comes through, given I know for sure I don’t have it?

I think I probably do but just want to be sure.

No i think as you've had a negative test you can stop isolating. The others need to wait for the results of your dd's test before their isolation ends if they don't have symptoms

@dementedpixie
Not true.
You need to remain in isolation until she has a negative test or 14 days have passed. Just because you didn't have it at a detectable stage when you were tested doesn't mean you couldn't have caught it off her since.

dementedpixie · 13/09/2020 12:09

OP had symptoms and got a negative test so she can leave isolation

dementedpixie · 13/09/2020 12:13

Or might just be best waiting on the result of dds test to be sure

ginberry4 · 13/09/2020 13:42

Argh it’s really not clear is it?! Anyone else know?

You all have to isolate until her new test result is back, sorry.

PurpleDaisies · 13/09/2020 13:49

You need to wait for her test result. She could be positive.

MRex · 13/09/2020 13:50

Just ignore that you had a test at all basically, you're isolating because she has symptoms, so follow the rules for that.

DamitJanet · 13/09/2020 16:19

You all need to stay in isolation until everyone in the house who has symptoms has had a negative result.

Torvean32 · 13/09/2020 19:36

You have to isolate until your daughter has a negative result or 14 days have passed since symptoms started.

Ok thanks all - I’ll be staying home.
