People are just going to not bother getting tested

If they can’t get a test, surely people will think sod it and not bother.

I’m so angry with the government for not sorting their act out. It’s about time they were held accountable. In any other profession they’d have been sacked a long time ago for utter incompetence.

This is before you take into account all the people who can’t afford to self isolate.

If government want people to do this they need to pay them full pay.

For every person with symptoms they don’t manage to test the contacts are not traced and potentially continue spreading the virus. It’s all well and good saying they can just stay home for 14 days, but in a school particularly there are lots of others that could be unknowingly spreading it because the positive one hasn’t had a test to trigger track and trace.

Yes exactly and we were assured it was safe to send all 8 million school kids back to school, all at once, with no social distancing, because the test track and trace would kick in and quickly isolate infections. And how we laughed and laughed and laughed...

I've been wondering how long it'll take teachers to sue. Good, I hope they sue the fucking socks off the government.

I've told my school that my kid had a fever (now gone) and I can't get a test. Is that fair to their teachers, still teaching in that class of little kids who were presumably exposed to her germs? And yet my older DD and DH are supposed to isolate, when they've had less contact with her and DH (at least) can go to a socially distanced, masked workplace with his own office with a door that shuts? Give me a fucking break.

When they give the daily case figures what I want to know is how much they are out on the real figures as there must be loads of positive but untested people.

So how can we decide to lock down locally without this info, and they've already run out of tests in hotspots like Bolton.
