What time did you manage to get a test booked on the website?

I’ve been refreshing for over an hour this eve wondering if anybody can shed and light on what time they release the slots?

10 am, 11am, 12 mid day and 8pm that I’m aware of.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 12/09/2020 20:06

No luck at 8 :(

It says some test sites are only over 18, I wonder if this is affecting our chances as it’s for our 2 year old and my hubby

I had no luck for over 24 hours and even tried at 2am when up to check on DD (she had a high temp hence the test).

Ended up collecting a private test today. Far less stressful (well until we had to get the sample from our two year old!).

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 12/09/2020 20:21

I did almost get one at 10 then it took me back to the start so I guess that must be one.
It’s so silly I know he only has a cough because of the snot, just trying to be a responsible person.

10am is a key time. Click through the tabs as fast as you can to get one of the slots.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 12/09/2020 20:33

I got one this morning at 10.26am for a 3 year old 40 miles away. There was one 20 miles away but after I confirmed it booted me off, and didn't work. Went straight back in and all those had gone and had to take the even further away one.
I had been trying since 8pm last night.

DisappearingGirl · 12/09/2020 20:35

I've clicked through it all and it's let me select a test site and time and given me a "Confirm your appointment" page but when I click "Save and continue" it just takes me back to the start page. Not had text or email confirmation? I assume that means it's not booked and I should try again? Don't want to book multiple tests by mistake.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 12/09/2020 20:38

I even got as far as putting my reg plate in.
Tomorrow I think I’ll go for two devices just incase! Been refreshing every five mins since 7 p.m if I do find out I’ll let you know.

Same happened to me. Apparently no confirmation email then no test.

I got one at about 6.30pm after several hours of refreshing

wegetthejobdone · 12/09/2020 21:09

8am for home test and 10:05am for a walk in (different family members in couple of days apart.)

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 12/09/2020 21:09

Looks like I might have missed this evenings release then

6:45pm east Midlands

Gillian1980 · 12/09/2020 21:27

They are popping up at all sorts of odd times.... not just on the hour etc. I’ve been checking this evening as I’ve got one booked for tomorrow but it’s 40 miles away.... they is a centre 1.5 miles away so I’m hoping one will pop up there and I can cancel the other.

SweepTheHalls · 12/09/2020 21:28

About 9pm last night after about 4 hours of trying

MrsGradyOldLady · 12/09/2020 21:29

There were loads at various walk in sites today at 11.30 am. None between 7am and 9.30am

Whydididothatfuckingthing · 12/09/2020 21:31

It tried for nearly 24 hours, through the night too as was awake with lo, finally got one at 6pm

Someaddedsugar · 12/09/2020 21:37

I'm trying to get a test for DS who's almost 3 and has a cough caused by nasal drip. The nearest site is currently 115 miles from home and I'm questioning whether to just go for it tomorrow as in the past 30 minutes of refreshing the available slots have gone from 105 down to 68.

BrownJenkins · 12/09/2020 21:51

Booked a test on Monday, all appointment times were available.
It's now Saturday and I haven't had any results.
The 119 helpline is constantly busy. After an hour of being held in the queue, several times, I've given up.

Tonkerbea · 12/09/2020 22:10

10:20. Godspeed OP, it's so frustrating.

Ilovechocolatetoomuch · 12/09/2020 22:11

I’ve been tinkering with postcodes and there are lots in Swansea. It’s a good 5 hours from my house though!

Update
I managed to get a test at 9:30 a.m this morning. I refreshed from 7-11 every 5 mins last night.
I started again at 6 this a.m and at 9:30 they all popped up. By 9:40 they where all gone so that’s how quick you need to be.
Worse than getting a Glastonbury ticket!

Glad you got one! We did too!

We realised that if it says "no tests available" you can just keep clicking back a page and reloading from there, rather then entering all the info again, and it does refresh for new availability.
