Coronavirus fines

Can anyone tell me if the £100 fines associated with breaking lockdowns / mixing households are just a fine or do they carry some sort of criminal record.

I'd be interested to know this too.

I’m hoping they carry a criminal record as the fine alone won’t deter many. More will likely comply if they know it will show on a DBS check etc.

I think they should definitely carry some sort of criminal record, as to many ppl are breaking the rules

lljkk · 12/09/2020 10:47

Given 1/3 of population already have criminal record, I don't see how that threat would mean extra magical incentive not to break the rules. £100 would be immediate & greater incentive.

Very true point, and reading a lot of threads on here, it sounds as if there's a large proportion of ppl, not following the rules, so we are screwed either way
