Anyone on zoeapp help?

I have been invited for a covid test by the zoeapp but the procedures to book one are not the same as in the email they send inviting you to test- so i am confused- I don't have any of classic symptoms, so I don't know if I should be claiming that I do to get the test or not. It says I will be able to select that I am a volunteer but there is no option for that Confused

I have done this. I think it says that you are allowed to say you are an essential worker?

Check your junk email. There was an explanation in there. Yes, you say you are an essential worker.

Shortage of tests? Maybe they’ve removed the volunteer option for now, so that people with actual symptoms can get a test?

Essential worker. I think it has a section for being asked to be tested. I've done it before.

I've also been asked but I'm not going to add to the testing nightmare at the moment. The school kids need the tests more than I do. I have none of the 3 symptoms.

I'm not on the app so can't help with the question but I'm sure I 've seen on other threads that the Zoe tests don't come out of the general supplies so you aren't taking one from anyone with actual symptoms. It might be worth checking that if you still want to help with the research.

Hum. It seems like the test ordering is the same process as for everyone else and frankly as there are no tests around here anyway and I dont have the symptoms I think I will just have to skip it - I know they 'want' negative tests as well as positive but they are going to need to agree a clearer pathway with the NHS on the ordering as I don't want to say I am an essential worker with symptoms when I am neither - what if I take a test needed by a gp or teacher to get back to work.

I was asked to get a test the other day too. Usually it's been so quick and easy to do. Now it's very hard to find any tests available.

I've also decided not to book one as those who genuinely think they might have it need to take priority right now.

It's so disappointing as easy test availability was one of the things we actually seemed to be getting right for a while.

I’m on the app and have been asked to test after I reported chest pains for 2 days. It says you’re supposed to say that you are an essential worker. I’m not going for a test though as I know they are scarce and want to leave them for people who need them to avoid isolating.
