Everyone I have spoken to, or seen on SM have said how stupid it is and they will not be following the rule /law.

My dbs manager who owns the workplace. Was due to have a get together at home next sunday for their teens birthday.
They are now doing it at work. ( a garage.)
Has now said by doing it there and ' booking in the relatives cars for a visual inspection /safety check ' whilst waiting they could get together on forecourt spaced out, Because they would be 'customers' and they would be at work. And it's no different to it being random customers just because it's family.
So there would be 2 cars' booked in' one of. Which is a couple., one a family Of 3. Plus their own household of 4 (the teens work there weekends cleaning etc anyway)

Which made me think how silly the rule is. They can't do that in their garden but can on a forecourt (the garage is not on a main road or anything and out the way so unlikely to be seen)

People won't, but they really should. The more people act selfishly, the longer this will be go on for.

RedskyAtnight · 11/09/2020 15:03

we should make sure our bubbles are small otherwise it won't matter if we only meet 6 people at any time

I'm assuming you're using "bubble" to mean people you come in contact with? Are you also counting people that they come in contact with? Anyone with a secondary school child will find this entirely impossible.

I Am fully expecting a back lash from Mumsnetters but no a majority of people on other sites /friends are fed up with it all we have all stuck to the rules and mental health is getting worse ! My friends husband in a&e suicidal/friend of my bosses committed suicide due to no work or money /life is full of risks and sorry I will be careful but my mum was going into depression so no won't be sticking to them ! Call me selfish I don't care ! Yes I know people who had it and died !

Ellsbells12 · 11/09/2020 15:06

@chocolatesaltyballs22

I hope so because they're not exactly that onerous and much better than a full lockdown. Suck it up, people.

As for the whole mental health thing - there are lots of things you are still allowed to do so pulling that card really doesn't wash in my opinion.

Obviously you have a job and money so your mental health not suffering ?
Fawnfour · 11/09/2020 15:08

Why are there so many of you not following the rules? Surely that's one reason we are in such a mess. I don't understand y people are so intent on breaking the rules.

Pikachubaby · 11/09/2020 15:09

Nah, I feel civil disobedience brewing inside me and bubbling up like rage Angry

And I am normally super law abiding, never even had a parking or speeding ticket , stuck to all the Covid rules

I lost faith in the government to be honest, completely lost faith. They don’t know what the hell they are doing.

So, I can be in my office with 20 people, side by side, my kids are at school/college, DH works at college, but we can’t see grandparents now as family of 5 ?! (As 5+2 exceeds limit) For months?! With no end in sight?

Fuck that

Honestly?

I have no idea what other people will do and I don't really see why anyone wouldn't tell the thruth about what they think everyone else will do and tbh it seems like a strange question if you're trying to find out what level of compliance there will be

feelingverylazytoday · 11/09/2020 15:10

I think most people are quite compliant where I live so I expect most people will stick to the law. Our reward is a low infection rate and (fingers crossed) local schools stay open.

LST · 11/09/2020 15:10

No I don't. Its only on mn I have seen people say they are going to follow it to the latter.

Because the rules have become illogical and bloody stupid.
hexmeginny · 11/09/2020 15:12

Surely people can just use their common sense. Stick to 6-ish... No more than 10 I'd say.

And doing whatever you please without any regard for others and the bigger picture is also very narrow minded.

We will end up in another full lockdown if people don't follow the LAW.

mylittlesandwich · 11/09/2020 15:15

It doesn't actually change anything for me so yes I will follow the change. My family meet up on a Sunday in my mums house. My mum, my sister and her partner are one household of 3 and me and DS and DH (when he isn't working) is another 3. I'm slightly sad if this is still in place in November as I know everyone would like to see DS on his birthday.

Ellsbells12 · 11/09/2020 15:15

@Badbadbunny you think it is as easy as that do you ?

Ellsbells12 · 11/09/2020 15:16

@chocolatesaltyballs22 you really are an arrogant person
