Anyone tested a baby?

My older DD just got a negative test back following a cold that turned into a cough. But now my 3 month old baby has the cold. Not coughing yet, but seems inevitable. I assumed if he does start coughing we would just have to self isolate for 14 days - annoying as it's pretty obvious he got what his sister had but not much else we can do.

But DH says he thinks his work would expect us to get baby tested so he can go back in. His job can be done from home, but it makes parts tricky. I understand why his work would want that, but panicking a bit about shoving a swab up my baby's nose safely. It was bad enough with a 3 year old! Any one else done this?

DS did to 6 week old DGS - he said he only had to do the nasal swab. DGS was positive.
