Have any of you lovely lot dealt with Lastminute.com and can offer any words of advice. Son was meant to go to Greece with friends post A levels this Summer. None of that obviously happened. Then decided a couple of weeks ago when things seemed a little more "settled" to book a 5 day trip to Portugal as it had just been added to the exempt list. Meant to go tomorrow and of course it's now just gone on the bloody list of counties where he'd have to quarantine on return. I've never dealt with last minute.com so I'm trying to wade through all their blurb about changing dates, changing destinations, refunds blah blah, while they try and get hold of someone to chat to!? Anyone been in this situation recently. They could go elsewhere or they could change dates.

Travel Insurance job, I expect.

Can’t he sort it out himself though?

Yes of course he can sort it out himself, hence why I said he's trying to get hold of someone at last minute.com to chat to. I'm trying to assist because as a nice person that's what I like to do.

Travel insurance

I'm not sure that travel insurance covers you in case of Covid cancellations. Some may. But I don't think it's the norm .

Sorry OP I have no experience of last minute.com.

We had also booked Portugal but seeing the rumours a week or so back we decided to cancel while we knew we could get a refund on our accommodation. We are now going to investigate a refund on cancellation of flights but from things I've read, I'm not particularly hopeful.

Check your insurance / his insurance

I have a yearly policy and it covers it FCO travel advice says not to go! Which is the case here. But see if that’s on his.

Was it a package holiday or did he book flights and accommodation separately?

Package and he has more rights
