A week back in school and.....

child has been knocked off their feet with a "cold". Sore throat, sore ears, tiredness, sore tummy, glands up in neck, snotty, off meals and drinks, feels warm but thermometer says temperature is fine, did say earlier the drink tasted like water when it was made pretty strong with squash.

I don't want to take away a test from someone else but I also have another school aged child and work meetings booked (don't want to mingle if it's not safe to do so!)

Based on the nhs guidelines you would have to lie to get a test so I would say no. If you have a GP appointment and they advise a test then that's different.

The mention of the drink tasting different to usual made me wonder if the taste had changed (child has autism so unable to clearly communicate)

I would

Loss of taste or smell is a symptom, so yes I would

Definitely test. I’d be concerned about the sore ears. School won’t have your child back with even a cold and there seems to be quite a few things on your list.

Order a test because by the time the test arrives I’m sure you will need to use the swob.

School were happy to have them today with a "cold" I rung ahead this morning to ask. The possible taste disturbance came once I had collected from school and the tiredness - had literally laid down since 3pm.

Really. I’m surprised my school would of called me.
