Can I ask how long people are waiting if your small child gets a temperature before deciding a test is necessary?
We tested last week, after my 3 year old had a temp overnight (fell ill in the afternoon, when she was still hot the next morning we booked a test). I am fully aware that the advice is to test asap , however I do believe that common sense has to come into it too. Small children spike temperatures regularly ime, so it made sense to me to ensure it wasnt due to over tiredness, teeth etc. I've friends who would have booked a test as soon as the temperature appeared and others that wouldn't bother with a test on a small child unless another symptom appeared or they were quite unwell.
Just curious what others think.
