Just this really... wondered if the soft play centres have to close again from Monday?

No what makes you think that?

@Pinkmakeupbag

No what makes you think that?
She doesn’t know, that’s why she asked
Keepgoing88 · 09/09/2020 19:13

Because I don’t know the answer as the previous poster said... feel like you can’t ask anything on Mumsnet not a days without getting something completely pointless stuff back from people or questions as to why you are asking a question!

But I answered you question. I said no and I asked you what made you think it did.

To my knowledge the government hadn't mentioned closing soft play so I wondered where you'd got that from.

Where's the problem?

AutumnLeavesStart · 09/09/2020 22:20

I think it’s very odd that we can’t meet more than six family members but the biggest germ centres available are staying open. But apparently that is what’s happening.

thirstyformore · 09/09/2020 22:21

Because you can't gather in groups of more than 6....and when that last happened softpnays were shut. So reasonable assumption to make

ReeseWitherfork · 09/09/2020 22:27

I’ve had a lot of conversations along these lines today.

Nothing is closing, it’s only socialising over 6 (anywhere!!) which is illegal.

The justification (rightly or wrongly) is that anywhere which is open is subject to Covid guidelines and have adjusted the way they operate accordingly. So if soft play, for example, was flagged as a common infection location during their track & trace exercises then soft play could very well be closed again. Same with pubs or whatever. However as soft play centres have opened with reduced numbers, additional cleaning etc., they can remain open. You can’t go to soft play and sit at a table with more than 6 though.

ReeseWitherfork · 09/09/2020 22:28

I don’t think @Pinkmakeupbag was being rude, I got the impression she thought maybe you’d seen something on the news specific about soft plays that she hadn’t.

Pinkmakeupbag · 09/09/2020 22:37

No I wasn't @ReeseWitherfork

I presumed venues were staying open, same as pubs, restaurants just you cannot meet within them as a group of over 6. As you say the government are saying venues and workplaces are Covid secure and that transmission is coming from households meeting.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but that's what I understood it to be.
