Covid in dd’s school

There’s a confirmed case in year 1, dd is reception and we’ve been told to send her in as normal but I was on the shielding list and I feel extremely tetchy about it.
Is this happening all over the country?

Not happened at my DS's school. Cases seem consistently low in our borough though, only 5 new cases reported yesterday out of a 115,000 population.

@IceCreamAndCandyFloss would you? In lieu of the hand gel thing or just because you wouldn't send a child unless they needed to go for work purposes? I've been back and forth so many times with this and I just can't decide what's best to do. She's a very shy little girl as well and I feel terrible sending her at a time like this.

Lack of hand gel wouldn’t have been the main factor given most transmission seems to be from aerosol. I just would rather them be home safe rather than in childcare if they didn’t have to be. I’d not want to risk the exposure.
