Until he has a Covid test. No tests available in Scotland currently! His temperature was 37.8.

We were told today that as the website is down you can go to any testing site as long as you have the QR code. Doesn't matter what site you are offered today - just accept that booking then go to your nearest one.

Cakestandkitchen · 08/09/2020 15:48

Thanks. Will give 5 pm a try. Latest temperature 36.2. Frustrated. He’s drinking a milkshake and eating a crunchie.

Ds2 apparently had a temperature of just below 32 last week at the dentist. I’m pretty sure that means he’s one of the undead

Where do you get a QR code please?

Check again after 5pm too, 8/9pm!

Cakestandkitchen · 08/09/2020 15:50

Ignore. I understand. There are not tests at all in Scotland.

If either you or DH are key workers your employer can refer any member of your household for a test.

RedRumTheHorse · 08/09/2020 15:53

If new tests aren't uploaded a 9am or 5pm try at 8pm.

MaggieFS · 08/09/2020 15:54

Sorry this isn't overly helpful but I've just been reading that the issue isn't capacity at test sites but at the processing labs. So appointments not being made available to manage numbers needing to be processed. What a farce. Good luck, OP.

Thanks. DH is a keyworker so he is asking his employer.

Well one of my colleagues in Greater London just got offered a choice between Telford and Inverness for their son, so there must be tests available in Scotland...

dementedpixie · 08/09/2020 16:00

I dont know why you didn't call the school back when you got the normal result on your thermometer

ApolloandDaphne · 08/09/2020 16:08

There is a walk in test centre in St Andrews if you can get there.

Onynx · 08/09/2020 16:08

Ring the school and ask them to show evidence of when their thermometer was calibrated. Tell them it is clearly wrong as your thermometer is showing his temperature is 36.2. Also how is 37.8 a fever?

Mummyto3gorgeousgirlies · 08/09/2020 16:12

I refreshed every 30 mins from 7am this morning and got within 20min drive from my house at the 10am refresh (London surrounding area)...
youngest daughter had been coughing throughout night - susceptible to coughs along with sniffles so I'm highly hopeful will be negative - but yes guidelines for all 5 of us is to isolate until the results return is necessary - its to cover that grain of chance it's not a seasonal cough / cold / temp etc and protect others for that just in case... pain in backside yes, but necessary yes - just got to hope everyone has the same regard really...

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 08/09/2020 16:16

I think I’d be phoning the school back actually, and saying you think their equipment is faulty.

Thank you. I can only go by what is in front of me.

We've been trying since yesterday evening and still can't get a test. Home tests unavailable and have stayed that way every time I've tried (repeatedly through the day). We can't drive and there are no walk in options where we are.

I don't understand what people are meant to do.

LesLavandes · 08/09/2020 16:21

If your son has a fringe, you need to move it out of way for the forehead temperature test

starfishmummy · 08/09/2020 16:24

According to my local facebook group people from our area are also being offered Telford. Rumour is its a computer issue.

thereplycamefromanchorage · 08/09/2020 16:26

We got a walk in test for my dc at Edinburgh airport yesterday - there were loads of slots available then, plus slots showing at Dunfermline. It wasn't even that busy when we were there. Can't believe they have all gone - I assume this is a website issue, not a capacity issue.

mocktail · 08/09/2020 16:26

I think usually anything above 37.5 is considered a fever but for the purpose of coronavirus tests the threshold is 37.8. It's very frustrating if there are no test appointments available though.

3lovelykids · 08/09/2020 16:26

I work in a school and any child with a temp of 37.8 has to be sent home and be tested for Covid. If the test is negative they can return. They are just following the guidelines

FelicityPike · 08/09/2020 16:27

Friends of mine in Ayrshire were being offered Belfast last week.
Computer error apparently.
