Well, I was so positive, sending dd back to school. I was anxious but believed the crap about schools being safe. Now I find today, reports of 62 schools with positive cases.

Schools have only been open a week! I'm glad the majority of children won't be too badly affected but what about their families? As well as school staff that are falling ill too.

In exactly the same boat OP. Practically bullied in to sending them back, was trying to be positive it would be ok and now really regretting my decision Sad.

It's inevitable.

Sadly This is the way it is. Hopefully with the track and trace they can find the cases and stop the spread in the clusters

I mean of course cases are rising in UK schools. They’ve been shut for 6 months. They could only go one way! We can’t eliminate it completely at the moment so a measured return is sensible.

Schools in England have only just opened its too soon for any rise in cases to be blamed on that.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 07/09/2020 21:57

121 schools affected in England according to Twitter.

Some schools have been open from mid august

This just reflects greater numbers of cases in the community in general at the moment.

Concerned7777 · 07/09/2020 22:01

@Imsosorryalan75 are they the schools that have isolated bubbles?

Triangularbubble · 07/09/2020 22:16

There’s about 30,000 UK schools I think. That’s a tiny fraction, and hardly surprising. Obviously if it’s spreading in the community then some of those infected will be children, school staff etc and obviously therefore some schools and bubbles will be closing. Come on, did you really think that there wouldn’t be any cases in anybody who attends or works in a school?!

Measured lolol
Cram em in exactly as usual. With some handwashing.
By the number of colds the measures arent enough

whiteroseredrose · 07/09/2020 22:54

Not sure if this will work but the graph shows that even though cases are rising in places like France and Spain, deaths are very low.

So rising cases here doesn't necessarily mean more deaths or hospital admissions
