Quarantine policy and schools

With the best will in the world to keep schools open, I just can't see how it will happen.

If a child tests positive their bubble is sent home and they quarantine for 14 days.

DS is in a class of 30. A year group (that they mix with in their inside zone, outside zone, and some subject where classes are set) of 240.

Already a local primary school is delaying its opening because one teacher tested positive and the staff had been together last week getting ready. They all have to isolate for 14 days.

How long until all the staff and students are in quarantine?! Am I missing something?

You're not missing anything.
Teachers have been posting about this for months on here.

Posting about their concerns that is.
One FE college we know has a bubble of 1,000!

Our primary is keeping classes separated so if one child gets it only the class has to isolate. It's an absolute waste of time though ad the kids are all playing out with each other out of school. That said, 3 weeks in nobody has had to isolate.

Does anyone know if child's bubble has to isolate does the rest of that child's family too

dementedpixie · 07/09/2020 16:25

its only the child with contact that needs to isolate, not the whole family
